of newcastle video gaming
We’re gamers. We’re all sorts of ages, in all different stages in life, with loads of different talents. But we bond over our love of games.
Most every species on the planet engages in some form of play. It’s a vital part of life. And, for humans, so is community. These days, most communities have moved to online spaces, so we wanted to create a safe haven for our gamer friends of all ages and identities to feed our minds (with games), souls (with friendship), and bodies (with… well, food!)
So, how does it work?
Simple! Just walk in, pay for game time, and hop on the game of your choice. Swap consoles whenever you want, as much as you want. Order food and drinks from the comfort of your seat- gotta keep yourself energised while you play!
Want to reserve a specific console/game in advance? Request a booking or send us a message via email or social media.
Want to squad up with all your buddies? Check out our party options!
The CTRL Pad frequently plays host to many societies, both directly related to video gaming and other local groups who just want a chill place to congregate and have a good time.
One of our primary missions is to maintain a safe space for everyone to have fun and develop their skills. Many of our regulars find us to be a haven from the usual uncomfortable stimuli and social norms they struggle with on a daily basis. We have the absolute honour of being awarded Venue of the Month many times by Luv2meetU, which is a service for learning disabled and autistic adults.
We also participate in several Work Experience programs to give opportunities to those who may not otherwise be able to accrue work skills in a real-world environment. If you are interested in more information, please use our contact form to get in touch.
